今の世では、自然の季節に人工的な装飾がほどこされている。私たちの周囲では花が季節に先立って咲き、以前は季節季節にかぎられていた野菜や果物がいつでも食卓を飾っている。季節感のそがれる世の中である。

Today, people intervene in seasons which nature should control.  Around us, flowers bloom before the best season comes, and we can eat vegetables and fruits every time though we could eat them only the best season of them in the past.  In such a world, we cannot feel seasons well.

森田君！君は「自然の季節に人工的な装飾がほどこされている」を「自然がコントロールすべき季節に人が干渉している」と上手く具体化しましたね。intervene は日本語にしたときに「干渉する＋何に」となって、「何を」にはならないので「他動詞のようで自動詞」のパターンにピッタリはまってますね。だから前置詞 in が必要だということを君はちゃんと理解している様子です。あ、「他動詞のようで自動詞」の特徴についてはココを参照してみてください。さて、今日は「Aは今が季節である」と、「１年を通していつでも」、そして「季節感がある」の３つの表現を勉強しましょう。

①A is now in season
「Aは今が季節である」とか「Aは今が旬である」の表現は、A is now in seasonとかA come into season at this time of the yearと言います。こんな風に使います。
⊿カキは今が旬だ
Oysters are now in season.
Oysters come into season at this time of the year.

一方、四季の中でどの季節が一番良いのかを言うときにはthe best seasonを使います。例えばこんな具合です。
⊿北海道は夏が一番です。
Summer is the best season in Hokkaido.
⊿京都を訪れるのなら秋が一番です。
Autumn is the best season to visit Kyoto.

いずれの表現も season は副詞で使い、主語にはなっていないことがポイントです。森田君は問題文を「花が旬の季節を迎える前に咲く」と具体化してflowers bloom before the best season comesとしましたが、seasonが主語になってしまってます。残念ながら英語にはthe best season comesというの表現はありません。だから、before they are in seasonとしてやります。次の「以前は僕らはそれらが旬の時にだけ食べることができた」もwe could eat them only the best season of themではなくてwe could eat them only when they were in seasonとしてやります。

②all year round
every timeは副詞だと「毎回」、接続詞だとevery time S+Vで使って「SがVするたびに」の意味になります。
⊿彼の計画は毎回採用された
His plans were adopted every time.
⊿電話をする度に彼は外出していた。
Every time I called him up, he was out.

問題文の「野菜や果物がいつでも食卓を飾っている」は「野菜や果物を僕らは１年中食べることができる」と具体化できるので、「毎回」ではなくて「１年中」の意味のall year roundにしてやります。あ、同じ「いつでも」でも「好きなときに」の意味ならばany timeを使いますよ。
⊿きみはいつでも好きなときにそれを食べられます。
You can eat it any time.

③a sense of the season[s]
季節感は危機感と同じで a sense of A を使います。
⊿季節感
a sense of the season[s]
⊿危機感
a sense of crisis

そして、日本語では「季節[感]を感じる」なんていうこともありますが、英語ではfeel the seasonsとかfeel a sense of the season[s]とは言いません。
だから、問題文の「季節感がそがれる世の中である」は「僕らはちゃんと季節感を持つことができない」とか「僕らは季節感を失ってしまう」と具体化します。

We cannot have a [good] sense of the seasons.
We have lost a sense of the seasons.

似ている表現でこんなのも覚えておくと良いでしょう。
