さて、今度は「場所はどこでも」「時はいつでも」「方法はどんなやり方でも」です。ここでとんでもないことが起こります。先行詞とは「飾られる名詞」でしたね。それと「ここから飾りが始まるよという記号」である「関係詞」が合体してもできあがるモノは名詞のはずです。だから、「どいへでも」や「いつでも」の文末副詞になるには、本当なら[　 ]の中に入っている前置詞がどうしても必要なのですが、米語ではこれさえ省略してしまいます。

■君の行くところならどこでもついて行きます。
I will follow you wherever you go.

I will follow you [to] anyplace. ＾ －言いたい文
★You go <to the place>.－飾りの文

　　　　　　　　　to which
　　　　　　　　　　　↓

→I will follow you [to] anyplace where you go.

どうして[ ]の中の前置詞を省略してしまったかというと、本来は関係副詞のはずのwhereverやwheneverを接続詞だと考えたからです。これは究極のご都合主義ですね！
◇僕はあなたの行くところへ行きます。
I will go where you go.
◇君が遊びに来たいときに来なさい。
You can come and see me when you want to.

まとめておくと、複合関係副詞は先行詞と関係副詞が合体してできたミュータントで、それぞれの意味は下の様に考えて接続詞のように扱えば、君はもうアメリカ人です。
◇wherever　Ｓ＋Ｖ＝「ＳがＶする所ならどこへでも」
◇whenever　Ｓ＋Ｖ＝「ＳがＶする時ならいつでも」
◇however　Ｓ＋Ｖ＝「ＳがＶする方法ならどんなやり方でも」
