「一」one, first
on-yomi 「いち」
kun-yomi「ひと(つ)」
一日(いちにち)=a day, all day (long)
⊿5才(ごさい)の子供(こども)は一日(いちにち)に400回(かい)くらい笑(わら)う。でも、大人(おとな)は一日に15回くらいしか笑わない。
□Five-year-old children laugh about 400 time a day, but adults laugh only 15 times a day.
◇5才の子供(ごさいのこども)=five-year-old children
◇400回(かい)=400 times
◇笑う(わらう)=chuckle, laugh
◇大人(おとな)=adult(s)
*大人になると「面白いこと」の枠が小さくなる。悲しいことだ。
The range of “interest” adults have is smaller than the one children have.
